Giastar is a small company - our primary in-house skills are design and development. Hand-assembly of prototypes and small batches is part of that process. We have production and optical inspection equipment that allows manufacture to a high standard.
Larger batches are subcontracted. We have over the years established a network of reliable subcontractors and consultants who can supply everything we need to provide a complete post-design service including manufacture of large batches. This strategy allows us to concentrate on what we're good at, rather than dilute our skills by attempting to do everything under the same roof.
From clients' point of view, they have a single point of contact. We take responsibility for the quality of the end product. In the case of smaller batches, system integration and testing is always done by us to allow quality to be monitored. For larger quantities (100+) we may subcontract testing, however in these cases we always provide an ATE jig to ensure that our standards of quality and traceability are met.
If subcontractors are used, confidentiality is assured by splitting tasks in such a way that no one subcontractor has enough information to duplicate the design, or even figure out what it does. Manufacturing data issued to subcontractors does not identify the client or end-user.
