The control software for this system runs under DOS and is programmed in Modula-2. It provides automated and manual operation, also low-level control of individual peripherals for non-standard operations.
This shows the most commonly used mode: manual operation, which provides manual high-level control of the system. The lower half of the screen shows a simple block diagram with the currently selected signal paths. The menus allow different configurations for gain calibration, sending pre-recorded messages in either direction, and recording received signals. When parameters are changed, the block diagram is updated to show the signal flow of the new configuration. The colour and labelling of each block shows its current state - this is particularly useful in automatic mode when a call is being set up.
The low-level menu allows independent control of elements of the system. The selected menu shows control options for the audio switch matrix monitor channel, which measures the level of the selected channel (showing it in the lower window) and allows the signal to be monitored via the loudspeaker.
This low-level menu shows the control options for the DAA cards. There are two in the system, providing the interface to the PSTN and to the MES.
This is the low-level menu for DAT recorder control. All the frequently used DAT functions are available.
