The Giastar MCU1 is a small (fits in 2U) front panel controller that we use in custom-built systems. It is not sold separately. It communicates with other Giastar modules via either RS485 or a multi-drop variant of RS232.
It has an alphanumeric screen, a numeric data entry pad with on-screen editing, increment/decrement keys, soft function keys, and a spinwheel.
The MCU1 contains an 80552 microcontroller. For simple systems this is used as the system controller. For more complex systems the MCU1 communicates with a separate system controller board or a PC.
